Baza - around and about

Here are just a few general shots of life in Baza.

Plaza Mayor, with a marquee for an event later in the week
and again with the marquee gone
the tower of Iglesia Mayor in the evening sun
the biggest trees in the city!
drinking fountains with tiles, indicating the Moorish roots of the town
narrow streets
narrow footpaths
Monday morning shopping trips with the granny trolley
it's uphill on the way home!
the best birdwatching spot within 15 mins walk of Casa Caelli
great views of the Altiplano
the bullfighting ring - yes, it's still used!
cave homes in the hills surrounding the town
a statue of El Cid, the founder of Granada
a little suburban street garden
lovely colours in the afternoon sun
the door to Caelli's apartment (note the marble!)
