On the way home from Konstanz, I stopped off at Meersburg, which has a lovely old castle. My Erlebniskarte gave me entry to this as well, but as I had limited time before the final boat to Lindau left, it was the fastest tour ever. At least it wasn't raining.
Approaching Meersburg
Burg Meersburg sits above the town
Along the waterfront
Not sure about these two very impressive buildings? Museums?
Neues Schloss, the new castle
Notice the Zeppelin
There are lots of lovely flowers in Meersburg, too. I had some fun trying to get them in all my photos.
Looking up at the Burg
Burg's on the left
Same lot of tulips, but looking lakewards
The Burg is up the hill (of course!) Steep walking in places. This lovely old half-timbered mill had a working mill wheel. Gorgeous.
The walkway at the top is the entrance to Burg Meersburg
Couldn't get the flowers in this tower shot!
Then for my speedy visit inside the Burg.
Phil - this one's for you
Cold and gloomy dining hall
A throne!
This spiral staircase spirals in both directions
A lovely model of the Burg
Heading back down the hill to catch the boat back to Lindau.
Nope - not my boat, thank heavens!
